A popular Indian restaurant in south Manchester is offering free hot meals to the elderly and those most affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

On Sunday (March 15), The Khandoker in East Didsbury posted on social media to say that a free meal could be collected from the restaurant for those in need. “We always try to help out where we can,” Mo Khandoker told the Manchester Evening News. “We thought it was something we could do to support those in isolation who can’t go out.” The kind gesture will include a curry along with a side of rice and the restaurant says it welcomes any relative or friend who knows someone in need to come and collect the meal on their behalf. “We work in the food business so we always have a little bit of extra at
