In the wake of the news of the tragic deaths of Martina Karos and the daughter she adored, there was a huge outpouring of grief and shock.
The 40-year-old had companions - including mothers of children with disabilities similar to those of her beloved Eleni - but still felt isolated, desperate and alone.
Brought up in Rome, of Italian and Greek descent, she lived on South Radford Street in Salford for several years. Neighbours knew her, but few were close to her.
