Atherton, which sits between Wigan and Bolton, has made a top 10 list of places with the highest proportion of homes provisionally sold after being put on the market this year, the Mirror reports.
The town, located just north of Leigh, has seen 80.3 per cent of its newly listed properties sold with an average asking price of £153,540, according to the research.
Atherton, which came in at sixth place in the top 10, is not the only town in the north west to make the list. While Cornish surfing town Newquay topped the list with 82 per cent of properties
