Viewers of the new ITV series The Games were left confused when they spotted Dean Gaffney backstage during the rowing challenge.
The Channel 4 show, hosted by Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff, sees 12 super-fit celebrities compete in sporting challenges, including an athletics arena, swimming pool, gymnasium, and velodrome.
And while there is quite the star-studded line-up, no one from EastEnders is taking part in the show - causing surprise from fans as they spotted 44 year old Dean.Tweeting about the soap star, best known for his portrayal of Robbie Fowler, one person tweeted: "Lol, why is Dean Gaffney at #TheGames backstage?!" Another wrote: "I saw Dean Gaffney there...
Is he a reserve or a trainer? #TheGames." A third added alongside a shocked emoji: "#TheGames Coming up next: Celebrity Crufts with Dean Gaffney and wellard." Dean was most likely at the show to support other soap stars such as Coronation Street's Colson Smith and Ryan Thomas, as well as Emmerdale's Rebecca Sarker.
