Last month, a new waterfront food and drink destination with a host of exciting food traders opened at Salford Quays. Part of a wider £3.5 million transformation of the waterfront stretch at Quayside MediaCity, Central Bay is one of the biggest operations of its kind - not only in Greater Manchester, but the North of England.
Named after the original stretch of dock which was once a bustling loading bay during the industrial revolution, Central Bay sits at the heart of a number of Salford landmarks, which can be admired from its south-facing outside terrace, providing space for up to 600 visitors.
The 25,000 sq ft venue encompasses a massive food hall called Kargo Mkt with 20 operators and space for 400 people, plus a a shipping container bar.
A few weeks after launching, five new kitchens have joined the fray offering up everything from Brazilian-Mexican fusion street food and South Indian specialities to authentic Chinese noodles.
