The entrepreneur aiming to transform a crumbling 200-year-old hall

A Rochdale-born entrepreneur who moved to America almost 20 years ago has returned to his hometown to take on the renovation of a 200-year-old building where he had his wedding reception.

Mike Thakur, founder of a flexible office space company in Texas, describes himself as “an adventurous entrepreneur with a passion for wild home renovations”.

He recently completed the overhaul of a $1.5 million mansion in Tennessee, which had been severely damaged by a fire in 2022 – all documented on his YouTube channel.

But that property was built in 1997. The building Thakur has now turned his sights on - which he has sold the Tennessee mansion in order to fund - predates it by some 200 years.
