In fact, they topped consumer experts Which? list for the most expensive appliances to run, with an average annual running cost of £234.Speaking on his podcast las week, Lewis suggested that households could slash hundreds off their bills by using a dehumidifier to air-dry laundry, as they are designed to suck up moisture.Dehumidifiers cost just 7p an hour to operate, compared to the dryer's hourly run of £1.77.
