‘The Day of the Jackal’ First Episode to Air on NBC in U.S. Linear Debut

30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The series, which premiered on Peacock and Sky on Nov. 7, picked up two Golden Globe nominations (for best drama series and best actor in a drama for Redmayne).
On Nov. 22, it was renewed for a second season. Based on Frederick Forsyth’s 1971 novel but reimagined into today’s world, “The Day of the Jackal” stars Redmayne as “The Jackal,” a renowned assassin who easily slips into various disguises and aliases, and Lashana Lynch as Bianca Pullman as an intelligence agent dedicated to capturing him. “The Day of the Jackal” ranked No.
1 on Peacock’s top 10 TV shows chart, and it was the biggest new series ever to launch on Sky. The series was a Variety Critic’s Pick, with chief TV critic Aramide Tinubu calling “The Day of the Jackal” a “truly engaging drama.” “Meticulously presented and beautifully detailed, the series is a breathless adventure until the very end,” Tinubu wrote in her review.
