The Crown, which wrapped up its six-season run on Netflix at the end of last year, has been subject of a slew of royal rumors regarding spinoffs.
Andy Harries, exec producer of the series and founder of Left Bank Pictures, the Sony-backed company that produced the show, has weighed in on the possibility of more stories to emerge out of its royal triumph.
Harries said that his company was “lucky” with The Crown because it did a deal “at the beginning of Netflix’s life” and was able to retain the rights to the show. “I can assure you [that deal] feels very, very good and it gives us the opportunity to think about what we can do further with The Crown at some point.
It’s obviously an endless subject. We could go back or we could go on. We did six seasons, a very defined period of six decades, there’s plenty of potential, which at some point, I suspect we’ll return to,” he said on BBC’s The Media Show.
