Coronavirus infection rates have started to increase in all boroughs of Greater Manchester again over recent weeks. This has included cases doubling in Trafford alone, according to the latest round of figures.
Cases across England as a whole are up by 66 per cent after all remaining Covid restrictions were dropped in the country. As well as this, some scientists claim part of the reason for this recent surge in cases could be down to new variants, or sub-variants, of coronavirus which have been identified.
Some of these strains are thought to potentially have different symptoms or even different levels of contagiousness and severity.
