If you've just finished your mobile contract or you've been out of one for a while then now may be the time to switch to a SIM only deal.
A SIM only deal just covers the mobile service, so you're no longer paying for the handset but instead have a set monthly allowance of minutes, texts and data.
It can be ideal if you're happy with your handset as it's normally much cheaper than a traditional mobile contract. However some SIM only deals are part of a contract - although you're not paying for a phone, you'll still have to sign up – they average from 12-months to a rolling 30-day basis.
Or you can opt for a Pay-as-you-go SIM if you don't use your phone as much. Most SIM only deals are for new customers and many network providers do carry out credit checks too.
