The Apprentice hopeful Shama Amin has decided to leave the competition because of health concerns. The 41 year old suffers with rheumatoid arthritis — a painful condition that causes swelling and stiffness in the joints from the immune system attacking cells in these areas.

Shama has found it difficult as a result to meet the physical demands of the show and let Lord Alan Sugar know of her decision to quit after careful consideration and clear disappointment.

In scenes that will air in this week's episode, Shama tells the businessman: “I would just like to say something, Lord Sugar if that’s OK.

I suffer from a condition called rheumatoid arthritis." Get exclusive celebrity stories and fabulous photoshoots straight to your inbox with OK!'s daily newsletter .
