An unusual 50p coin has been sold on eBay for a whopping £150 with many more still in circulation. In 2009, the 50 pence piece was released to mark 250 years since the opening of Kew Gardens in 1759.
The coin depicts the famous Chinese Pagoda at the Royal Botanic Garden on one side and the Queen 's face as standard on the heads side.
The Royal Mint estimate there are a total of 210,000 in circulation. On Tuesday, one lucky seller sold a single coin for £150 - about 300 times its original value, the Liverpool Echo reports.
Initially, the coin started at a selling price of 99p with a considerable jump in price as a total of nine offers were made.
