justjared.comThe 1975 lead singer Matty Healy has deactivated his account on Twitter after he received backlash for his tweet about the death of George Floyd. Floyd was a 46-year-old black man who was killed by Minneapolis cops while being arrested earlier this week.
In a video that was taken by an eyewitness, he could be heard saying “I can’t breathe” while an office kneeled on his neck for several minutes. Matty went on Twitter and wrote, “If you truly believe that ‘ALL LIVES MATTER’ you need to stop facilitating the end of black ones.” The tweet also included a link to The 1975‘s song “Love It If We Made It,” which begins with lyrics that say, “We’re f–king in a car, shooting heroin / Saying controversial things just for the hell of it / Selling
