At least 15 people have been killed in an elementary school shooting in the United States after "an active shooter" opened fire.
Robb Elementary Schol in Ulvade, Texas was placed on lockdown after gunshots were heard at around 11.45am. Government officials confirmed that 14 students and a schoolteacher are dead and over a dozen have been injured, the Mirror reports.
Uvalde Police Department confirmed on their Facebook page that the shooter was detained in police custody shortly after 1pm."There is an active shooter at Robb Elementary," a spokesperson said on Twitter, "Law enforcement is on site."Your cooperation is needed at this time by not visiting the campus.
As soon as more information is gathered it will be shared."It comes after the school had reported that there was an "active shooter" in their area.
