Terrell Hines has released “Get Up,” the latest taste of his forthcoming debut mixtape Portal One: The Mixtape. A quiet, meditative track based around an acoustic guitar loop, “Get Up” builds production and tempo until it reaches its forceful, heart-racing peak.
A diatribe against the ills of racist capitalism, “Get Up” arrives alongside a lyric video that invokes images of protest signs and tear gas canisters.
Watch the video above. “It’s always good to get a vision out with other artists who want to live in a created space outside of the design we are currently in,” Hines says of the track. “I couldn’t have gotten a better collab than Vince Staples.
