Or perhaps you’re just looking to make the most of the nicer weather and plan some great weekend trips.Head down the Scottish coast to discover some of these top local spots while ‘Doon the Watter’.Beacon Arts Centre is preparing for a fun-filled weekend this summer as part of Inverclyde’s Meliora Festival, which aims to bring communities together after a difficult two years of restrictions during the pandemic.The special arts weekend, taking place from June 17 to June 19, 2022, will include comedy events, circus workshops, aerial dance displays, street theatre, performances from local bands and storytelling for children.A giant inflatable Luminarium sculpture will also be installed outside the Greenock venue, allowing visitors to journey through winding paths and domes of light and colour.The structure, Arboria II, is a new design by creators Architects of Air and the Beacon is the first location in the world to showcase it.There will also be comedy shows from Elaine C Smith, Ed Byrne and Friends and Squad Squad star Darren Connell.To attend, visitors can sail down the Clyde on the Waverley paddle steamer, which is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its maiden voyage.
