A teenager on the run with the help of his dad following a 'revenge shooting' jumped from a balcony at an apartment block in a 'desperate' bid to escape police.

Ethan Deas, 18, blasted a 17-year-old boy in Stretford last summer, leaving him seriously injured. It came 18 months after the death of 16-year-old Kennie Carter, who was stabbed to death in the area in January 2022.

The shooting 'was an act of planned revenge', prosecutors have said. The victim, who can't be named for legal reasons, was 'present at the time Kennie Carter had been stabbed', jurors previously heard.

Deas appeared in the dock at Manchester Crown Court alongside seven others due to be sentenced for their role in the events surrounding the shooting.
