Teenager left 'very shaken' after sex assault in Scots park as cops hunt attacker

A teenager girl has been left 'very shaken' after she was sexually assaulted in a park in Paisley last weekend. The 14-year-old was was walking along the cycle path near the A737 overpass at Kintyre Avenue, Linwood on Saturday, April 23 when the attack happened.

She was approached by a man at around 8.20pm who touched her inappropriately.Cops say the young girl did not requite medical treatment, however has been left shaken by what happened.

An investigation as now been launched to find her attacker The suspect is described as a male, between 20 and 30-years-old, of heavy build, with dark hair and wearing dark clothing.

It is believed members of the public were in the area at the time, including people fishing at the Black Cart Water. Detective Inspector Gary Sergeant said: "Although the girl did not require medical treatment, she was left very shaken by what happened. "Officers have been carrying out enquiries in the surrounding area since this incident. "We believe the area would have been quite busy with members of the public, including people fishing at the Black Cart Water. "If you were in the area at the time, please think back and get in touch with us if you have any information which may be able to assist our investigation. "I am also appealing to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious, or a man matching this description, to come forward." Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting reference number 3488 of Saturday, 23 April, 2022.
