Teenager hospitalised after being 'struck by car' in Edinburgh as woman charged

A teenager has been rushed to hospital after allegedly being hit by a car on a road in Edinburgh.Emergency sercices raced to Bankhead Drive in the capital after receiving reports of an alleged smash between a vehicle and a pedestrian at 12.30pm today.

On arrival, a 17-year-old boy was found injured. He was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment, where his current condition and extent of injuries remain unknown.

Officers investigating the alleged incident confirmed a 37-year-old woman was charged in connection with road traffic offences.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 12.30pm on Wednesday, 30 November, to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car on Bankhead Avenue, Edinburgh. "The pedestrian, a male youth aged 17, was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
