Join thousands of others who have signed up for the Daily Record newsletter.A 16-year-old Coltness boy was lucky to avoid serious injury when he crashed a car at high speed.The vehicle went out of control on a bend and hit a crash barrier and a sign.It then overturned and landed in an embankment.The teenager, who is too young to be named, was supposed to be serving a driving ban at the time.He admitted driving dangerously on Shields Road, Motherwell, on June 14 while banned and without insurance.He also admitted shouting abuse and threats at Wishaw General Hospital where he had been taken to be checked over.The boy, who was being held at Polmont Young Offenders’ Institution, did not appear for the case at Hamilton Sheriff Court this.
