A talented young Wishaw boy is delighted after his debut novel was released.Ryan Thompson, 13, began writing the novel, John Saves The World from Covid-19, during lockdown when he was just nine years old.Over the next few years, the book was finessed and after being sent to a publisher, the book has now been released and is available in both paperback and Kindle.Proud mum Cheryl said: “It all started off as a school project during the first lockdown when we were home-schooling the kids.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

When it eventually came back it was incredible.“Ryan was involved in helping the illustrations too. It all came from his imagination, it’s really authentic.”St Aidan’s High pupil Ryan is hoping this will be the first of many books and mum Cheryl couldn’t be prouder of him.She added: “I can’t believe that something that started out when Ryan was only nine has culminated in this.
