A teenage girl on trial accused of murdering Brianna Ghey had notes about serial killers including Harold Shipman in her bedroom, a jury has heard.

Girl X, from Warrington, is on trial accused of murder alongside her co-defendant, Boy Y, from Leigh. Both have pleaded not guilty.

They cannot be named due to legal reasons. Brianna, 16, a transgender girl, was stabbed 28 times in a park near Warrington, jurors at Manchester Crown Court have been told.

She was found face down in the mud by dog walkers in Culcheth Linear Park at about 3pm on Saturday February 11. Prosecutors claimed the pair had been planning to kill Brianna and had discussed killing other children.
