A teenage girl died after she was pulled from the sea after an inflatable boat accident. The incident occurred near Porthilly Rock in Wadebridge at 2.25pm, Devon and Cornwall Police has confirmed.
Police received reports of an upturned boat in the water and the Air Ambulance were brought in to assist in the search for three casualties.
All three people were taken to the lifeboat house before heading to Treliske Hospital. Sadly, a teenage girl was later pronounced dead.
Her next of kin have been informed. In a series of Bank Holiday tragedies off the Cornish coast, a man was also pulled from the water ten miles away at Treyarnon Bay in Padstow, at 2.30pm.
