Teen girl appears in court charged with throwing woman out of window at Lanarkshire house

A 13-year-old girl has been charged with serious assault after another female was allegedly thrown from a window in Wishaw.The girl appeared in the dock at Hamilton Sheriff Court today (Friday).She was accused of abduction, assault to severe injury and danger of life, and robbery.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Get all the news from your area – as well as features, entertainment, sport and the latest on Lanarkshire’s recovery from the coronavirus pandemic – straight to your fingertips, 24/7.The free download features the latest breaking news and exclusive stories, and allows you to customise your page to the sections that matter most to you.Head to the App Store and never miss a beat in Lanarkshire - iOS - Android The indictment states she was aged 12 when the alleged attack happened at a house in Craigneuk on April 19 last year.It's alleged the girl and another female, aged 15 at the time, locked the door to prevent the woman leaving.The pair are then said to have shouted abuse, punched the female repeatedly, dragged her by the hair and "pushed or forced her" out of a window, causing her to fall to the ground and sustain severe injury.They also allegedly robbed her of a mobile phone.Both are also accused of acting in a threatening or abusive manner on a train travelling between Motherwell and Wishaw on the same day.The 13-year-old allegedly assaulted three fellow passengers and pulled an emergency lever, preventing the train from leaving a station.Her solicitor, Matthew McGovern, said she pleads not guilty to all charges.Her co-accused, now aged 16, was not in court.Sheriff Thomas Millar continued the case until next month.
