The devastated mother of a 17 year old boy with ADHD who tragically took his life has spoken out about the desperate requirement for the educational system to 'prioritise students' mental health'.

Henry Grierson was found dead in April this year, only three days after his expulsion from Huddersfield New College. He was expelled after an 'altercation' at the college on April 11, leading to his expulsion post-investigation—a fact that came to light during an inquest at Bradford Coroner's Court.

College authorities were reportedly not informed about the current state of Henry's health. Henry had been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder at the age of ten and stopped his medication at 14, the inquest into his death heard, reports Yorkshire Live.

Coroner Angela Brocklehurst pointed out that the institution might have been unaware of Henry's vulnerability yet offered a narrative conclusion at the inquest.
