Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso is reportedly gearing up for another round on the streaming field.Deadline reported yesterday (August 24) that production studio Warner Bros.
Television has picked up the options on cast members Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift. Variety adds in their own report that Jason Sudeikis will likely be involved in “some capacity” as an executive producer.Deadline continues to state that the studio is expected to reach out to cast members Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, and Juno Temple – all of whom require SAG-AFTRA contacts, unlike Waddingham, Goldstein, and Swift, who are contracted under UK acting union Equity – for new option deals.Both reports indicate that it is still early before season four is officially greenlighted.
With its 2023 finale wrapping up most story loose ends, it’s unclear where a new season will head towards. However, in January, Warner Bros.
TV CEO Channing Dungey had teased Variety about a possible season four.“I mean, you watched the finale, there’s a little bit of a door that could be kicked back open if need be,” Dungey said.“I wouldn’t put the period on the end of that sentence just yet.
