Christmas present yesterday – when he got to go home.Oscar Edgar waved goodbye to the hospital he has called home since birth – leaving the ward to the cheers of his medical team.He has spent all his life in the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow with an undiagnosed respiratory condition which meant he could not breath unaided.He also has a separate liver condition which doctors are still trying to identify as well as a bowel problem.He was ventilated until he was four-and-a-half and is unable to eat.
Until very recently he couldn’t walk and was only able to say “Mumma”. He has spent countless sessions in intensive care and has had dozens of operations.
