A teaching assistant from Stockport has appeared in court after being charged with a string of child sexual offences. Curtis Longworth appeared in the dock at Tameside Magistrates' Court this afternoon (January 20).
The 22-year-old, who is currently in custody, faces five charges of child sexual offences which are alleged to have taken place last summer. READ MORE: Two teenagers GUILTY of murdering vulnerable 'cuckooed' drug addict who feared he'd be killed by gangsters Longworth is charged with intentionally touching a five-year-old boy, sexually touching a five-year-old boy and abuse of position, with all three offences alleged to have taken place on July 30, 2021.
He is also charged with encouraging another person to take an indecent image of a child on June 6, 2021, and encouraging another person to commit a sexual act on a child aged seven or eight years old between June 6 and July 30 last year.
Prosecuting, Nick Smart told the court: "This gentleman was a teaching assistant for children that were particularly vulnerable, aged between five and seven years old. "Clearly it is a position of trust that has now been broken." The school which employed Longworth was not named in court.
