Adam Morrison, 27, disturbed the couple in the middle of the night as they slept in July last year. The woman went to investigate and and screamed as she saw a ‘dark figure’ standing in the hallway, Manchester Crown Court heard.
Her partner ran up to Morrison and punched him to the head, knocking him to the floor. It was then the man saw he was carrying a chisel.
