Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Steven J. Horowitz Senior Music Writer Taylor Swift has spoken out after three of her Eras Tour dates in Vienna were canceled earlier this month following a thwarted terrorist attack that led to the arrest of two men.

In a post on Instagram commemorating the end of the European leg of the show, which just wrapped at London’s Wembley Stadium, Swift shared that she was overwhelmed by the cancellations and that they instilled a sense of fear and trepidation. “Walking onstage in London was a rollercoaster of emotions,” she wrote in a caption. “Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating.

The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows.

But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives. “I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together,” she continued. “I decided that all of my energy had to go toward helping to protect the nearly half a million people I had coming to see the shows in London.
