Selena Marie Gomez (born July 22, 1992) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television producer. After appearing on the children's series Barney & Friends (2002–2004), she received wider recognition for her portrayal of Alex Russo on the Emmy Award-winning Disney Channel television series Wizards of Waverly Place, which aired from 2007 until 2012.
Gomez also starred in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Princess Protection Program (2009), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), and Monte Carlo (2011). Thereafter, she focused on more mature roles in Spring Breakers (2012), Getaway (2013), The Fundamentals of Caring (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019). She voices the character of Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise, and serves as an executive producer of the Netflix television drama series 13 Reasons Why (2017–present) and the Netflix documentary series Living Undocumented (2019).
Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.
Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.
Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.
Rare Impact Fund Benefit benefited the “Come & Get It” singer’s mission to help people struggling with mental health issues and self-acceptance.Gomez’s “Only Murders in the Building” co-star Martin Short, 73, emceed the event and started the bidding for the Swift tickets at $5,000.The jokester entertained the crowd while bidding for the tickets, quipping that $6,500 was just the price for valet parking at a Swift show.
The winning bidder dished out three times that amount, months after Swift’s Eras Tour, which is currently on hiatus, broke Ticketmaster, upsetting fans — and the “Anti-Hero” singer herself.
The tour resumes on Nov. 17 for three shows in Brazil before pausing again until February. Taylor’s tickets were the highest-selling item of the night.
Famous faces, including Tyga, H.E.R. and Francia Raisa, Gomez’s friend and kidney donor, attended the benefit. The Post has contacted reps for Gomez, 31, and Swift, 33, for comment.
