Wizkid has argued that he no longer wants to be called an “Afrobeats” artist any longer.Last night (March 17), the Nigerian artist took to his Instagram stories to tell fans that his upcoming album is “done.” In the process, he warned that his sound would be different to his earlier its and shared his frustrations with being labelled an “Afrobeats” artist.“If you like Afrobeats, please don’t download my album!” said Wizkid. “I’m not a fucking Afrobeats artiste! Don’t call me that, hoe! I’m not Afro anything, bitch!'”Wizkid announces his new album “Morayo” is done and that it’s not Afrobeats. He also makes it clear he’s not an Afrobeats artist.

Boygenius, Blur, Pusha T, Susanne Sundfør are some of the latest names to join Øya festival’s stacked 2023 line-up.The acts will perform between August 8 and August 12 at Oslo’s Tøyenparken for the Norwegian festival’s 23rd edition.Also announced in Øya’s latest wave of acts are: Ayra Starr, Dry Cleaning, Uncle Waffles, Liv.e, Boldy James & The Alchemist, The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Oxlade, Billy Strings, Snail Mail, Domi & JD Beck, Balming Tiger, Lars Vaular, Dina Ögon, Fangst, Tigerstate, Bigbang, Malin Pettersen, and Valkyrien Allstars.Sigrid, Devo, FKA Twigs, Caroline Polachek, Shygirl, Amyl And The Sniffers, Obongjayar and TV GIRL were last year announced for this year’s festival.Wizkid will headline Wednesday, August 9, while Blur will top the bill on Thursday, August 10. Swedish singer-songwriter Håkan Hellström is set to headline on Friday, August 11, while Sigrid will close the festival on Saturday, August 12.Øya will again feature a 50/50 split between male and female artists while also supporting an “environmentally friendly and sustainable ethos that’s applied to every element of its organisation”.

Nigerian Afropop star WizKid has shared a video for "Mood," a collaboration with Buju from the deluxe edition of Made in Lagos. The video was directed by Kuukua Eshun, who also directed the Made in Lagos short film which provided visuals for three tracks from the album's deluxe ("Anoti," "Mood," and "Steady").
