Street Fighter has been indefinitely delayed by Sony.The original Street Fighter was released in 1986 and spawned a number of sequels and spin-offs which have sold over 55million copies in total. The most recent entry was 2023’s Street Fighter 6.The same year, Legendary Pictures acquired the rights to make a new Street Fighter movie, with Sony set to distribute.

Capcom has shared a new teaser trailer for Street Fighter 6 that confirms the introduction of a fan-favourite fighter.Terry Bogard originally starred in the Fatal Fury franchise, a series of fighting games released in the ‘90s, but has also featured in the SNK vs. Capcom titles and made an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.Now Capcom has confirmed Terry will be entering the fray of Street Fighter 6 this autumn.

Street Fighter 6 is getting another playable character this spring, with series antagonist Akuma on the way.Akuma, first introduced as a secret boss in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, is a long-time antagonist in the series, but players will soon be able to utilise him and his deadly fists.Last night (March 11), publisher and developer Capcom uploaded a new cinematic trailer showing Akuma training in a dark, damp cave. The aging antagonist has a different look now, with a large mane of white hair replacing his signature red.While there may be no more red in his hair, he’s not lost it entirely.

Street Fighter 6 has harkened back to its arcade origins with a secret command that turns the commentators of the match into a variety of animals.A player named pika0722chu_ posted the hidden code on Twitter (X), showing that if these buttons are pressed when the two characters are staring at each other on the versus screen, the secret feature is unlocked. Ministry Of Sound and cosmetics retailer Lush have announced a weekly gaming livestream that will feature a mix of guest musicians and streamers.Titled Beyond The Player, the livestream will be hosted by NNESAGA founder Stephanie Nneoma, and feature “in-depth interviews with some of the industry’s most prominent figures, gaming challenges and giveaways”.Nneoma will be joined by a range of guests on the show. A number of musicians — including Talia Mar, Sim0ne, VENBEE, Bklava, wAFF and Jordan Adetunji — have already been confirmed, along with streamers Sunpi, Ebonix, and King Jae.Beyond The Pale will be hosted through Ministry Of Sound’s Twitch channel, and after its first livestream kicks off on May 9, it will run every Tuesday for eight weeks.Across those two months, the stream will cover a number of games that are releasing in that period — including The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, Street Fighter 6, Diablo 4, and Final Fantasy 16.As the schedule suggests, it’s going to be a busy few months for gaming releases.
