SF9 member and actor Rowoon has opened up about his acting career.In a new issue of AnOther Magazine, the K-pop singer and actor discussed the evolution of his acting career, sharing that he still finds taking on new roles “nerve-racking”.“I always ask myself, ‘Why do I feel this way? Why am I so nervous?’ And it’s the thought that someone is going to be judging my acting,” said Rowoon, who added that he saw himself as a “tool” of the director.“I always go on set thinking I may know the right answer and I try to persuade a director that a certain scene is acted a certain way. But if the director was to give me an order afterwards, I’d take it on board because there’s never a correct answer,” he explained.

Rowoon has opened up about this departure from K-pop boyband SF9 for the first time.Rowoon spoke about his recent decision to leave K-pop boyband SF9 during a press event for his new K-drama series, The Matchmakers. The actor had been a member of the group for seven years, from their debut in 2016 until September 2023.“I left the group because I wanted to become more serious about acting, and I wanted to get better at it,” Rowoon explained, per SBS Star.

Rowoon for Netflix’s latest K-drama, A Time Called You.A Time Called You, a remake of the 2019 Taiwanese series Someday or One Day, stars Ahn Hyo-seop (A Business Proposal) as lead male character Koo Yeon-jun. Meanwhile, Rowoon made a special appearance as Tae-ha, a friend of Yeon-jun’s.In a new interview with SBS Star, the actor spoke about how he had “always wanted to work together” with Rowoon and “recommended” the former SF9 member when production was looking for a special guest actor.

Rowoon, a member of boyband SF9, wasn’t paid “any money” for his role in the new Netflix K-drama A Time Called You.Last week, Netflix released its latest South Korean series, titled A Time Called You. The new K-drama, which stars Ahn Hyo-seop (A Business Proposal) and Jeon Yeo-been (Vincenzo), is a remake of the 2019 Taiwanese series Someday or One Day.The series features a special appearance by Rowoon, who plays the character of Tae-ha, a friend of male protagonist Si-heon (portrayed by Ahn).

Rowoon will not be taking part in SF9‘s album promotions next month.Today (June 24), the music label shared in a statement to South Korean publication MyDaily that SF9 member Rowoon would not be taking part in the group’s promotions for their forthcoming album, currently slated for release next month.“Rowoon faced an inevitable situation in which he had to work on a tight schedule due to the combination of drama filming schedules during the long-running album production period,” wrote FNC, as translated by Soompi. “As he finished the drama as scheduled, we had a deep discussion about preparing for the next album and decided that it was right to show a better performance with a better level of completion,” FNC added, saying that it was “inevitably decided” that Rowoon would not participate in both the production and promotion of SF9’s new album.“We ask for your understanding about Rowoon unfortunately not being able to participate in this album, which many fans have been looking forward to, and we ask for your generous support and interest in SF9’s comeback and other various activities.”Aside from Rowoon, bandmates Inseong and Youngbin will also not appear on the boyband’s upcoming comeback. SF9 has spoken about his hopes for his upcoming K-drama Tomorrow.The singer-actor had discussed his experience shooting for the forthcoming fantasy drama in a new interview with South Korean outlet Newsen, during which he revealed that the show’s ultimate success was not something he was particularly concerned about.When asked whether he was feeling pressure about the success of Tomorrow, especially considering his previous project The King’s Affection was a hit with audiences, the K-pop idol revealed that this was not the case. “I don’t feel any pressure about results at all,” he said, as translated Soompi.
