ADOR, the label behind K-pop girl group NewJeans, has announced its new global auditions.On November 20, the HYBE Labels subsidiary shared a new poster announcing its auditions, which are open to applicants of all genders and nationalities between the ages of 2004 to 2011.The official audition site can be viewed here in English, Korean and Japanese. Per instructions on the website, applicants are required to submit a waist-up and full body shot, as well as a one-minute or longer video.Unlike its previous auditions, which allowed applicants to submit in categories of singing, rapping and dancing, or in a “free category” that includes acting, modelling and vlogging.

NewJeans singer Minji was apparently “not desperate” to debut as a K-pop idol, according to the casting agent who discovered her.South Korean casting director Darren Won recently recalled the story of how he found and casted NewJeans’ Minji in a new interview withThe Korea Times. “I invested a lot of time and effort to cast Minji, who was not so desperate about becoming a K-pop star at first,” he said, recalling first seeing her outside “a music academy in the city of Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, when she was 13”.“Back then, I was urgently looking for some idol trainees and the academy’s director told me she had two students to recommend,” he added. One of the students was Minji, however Won noted that she had not “set her sights” on making a debut at the time, despite having aspirations of becoming a singer.“Yet, I clearly saw the potential in her as soon as I met her, so I kept persuading her and ended up bringing her to Source Music, a K-pop label that I worked for at the time,” Won added.

Immortal Songs live concert in New York has had its venue downgraded from MetLife Stadium to the Prudential Center.The event is set to take place on October 26 and will feature performances from NewJeans, ATEEZ, Psy and g.o.d member Kim Tae-woo. Singers Lena Park, Patti Kim and Young Tak will also appear, as will indie rock duo Jannabi.An official announcement from organisers Studio PAV yesterday (October 9) confirmed the venue change.

League of Legends World Championship anthem featuring NewJeans.According to a press release, ‘Gods’ marks the first time a K-pop act has sung the League of Legends World Championship anthem. The song also marks the 10th anniversary of anthems for the annual esports tournament.“The 2023 Worlds music video follows the story of Korean pro player Kim ‘Deft’ Hyuk-kyu, from his discovery of League of Legends in high school, to his run at Worlds 2022 alongside his team that overcame all odds to become World Champions,” the press release reads.‘Gods’ performed by NewJeans, and was written by Riot Games’ principal composer Sebastien Najand along with Mako’s Alex Seaver.

K-pop group NewJeans will be releasing a song for this year’s League Of Legends World Championship.The single, titled ‘Gods’, will be released on October 4 at 6AM BST / 2PM KST. It will also launch with an animated music video from Riot Games, and NewJeans have described the song as “a new experience for all of us”.“It was fun to try a new genre and sound,” shared the group.

NewJeans member Haerin has released her charming cover of South Korean duo AKMU‘s latest single, ‘Love Lee’.Haerin’s perform of ‘Love Lee’ is part of NewJeans’ new ‘By Jeans’ series of YouTube covers, which launched earlier this month with Danielle’s version of ‘Rainy Days’ by BTS‘ V.Haerin prefaced her cover of ‘Love Lee’ by explaining why she chose the song. “When I first heard this song, I thought it was so refreshing and the lyrics were very bubbly too,” she said.

BTS‘ V and NewJeans have met up to dance to the girl group’s hit single ‘Hype Boy’.NewJeans recently shared a new clip of BTS member V joining them in the practice studio to dance to their 2022 hit single ‘Hype Boy’ across their social media accounts.The video opens with the BTS singer posing for the camera before it pans out to reveal the NewJeans members around him as they begin to dance to the song’s choreography.Notably, both acts’ labels are under the same parent company, HYBE. V (real name Kim Tae-hyung), a member of K-pop boyband BTS, has tapped NewJeans creative director Min Hee-jin for his upcoming solo album.Toda (August 2), V’s label Big Hit Music revealed to Sports Donga that the singer would be working with Min Hee-jin, the CEO of NewJean’s label ADOR, for his much-anticipated solo album. The ADOR head is set to lead the project, including elements such as the music, choreography and promotion style.Alongside the confirmation, Big Hit’s also released statements by both V and Min Hee-jin about their upcoming collaboration. “I received the offer late last year,” Min Hee-jin said, as translated by Koreaboo.

K-pop girl group NewJeans have performed a cover of singer-songwriter IU’s single ‘Celebrity’.IU has released the 21st episode of her YouTube music talk show IU’s Palette featuring the rising girl group as guests. During the episode, NewJeans shared a cover of the soloist’s 2021 hit single ‘Celebrity’.“There were so many reasons [we chose to sing ‘Celebrity’], but first of all, we really love this song plus, because you, IU, are our celebrity,” member Minji told the singer before the group began their performance.“In the cloudy darkness, don’t forget / That you’re a star, painted with a left hand / Can’t you see how beautiful / A true uniqueness can be / You’re my celebrity,” they sing in the chorus, accompanied by a live band.Later in the episode, IU also performed a cover of NewJeans’ song ‘Hurt’ from their 2022 self-titled debut EP.

K-pop girl group NewJeans have released a new music video for their song ‘ASAP’On July 26 at Midnight KST, the quartet dropped the dreamy music video for ‘ASAP’, one of six tracks from their new mini-album ‘Get Up’ which arrived last week.The new visual reimagines the girl group as ethereal forest fairies who are followed around by creatures with glowing eyes in the dark. Lollapalooza 2023 is set to feature a dedicated space called ‘Bunnyland’ for fans of K-pop girl group NewJeans.Lollapalooza 2023 recently revealed on its official website that NewJeans and Spotify are partnering to host ‘Bunnyland’, which is being described as “a dedicated space packed with activities and prizes for fans”.‘Bunnyland’ is set to be a one-day-only event, on August 3, when NewJeans are set to perform at the festival. “Be on the lookout for exclusive content with NewJeans in celebration of the group’s latest EP, ‘Get Up’,” added the event space’s description.The official announcement comes just days after Spotify teased ‘Bunnyland’ on Twitter.
