Duffy is sharing how she felt after speaking out about her alleged rape and kidnapping. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the 35-year-old singer, whose full name is Aimee Anne Duffy, wrote about her emotions amid the coronavirus pandemic and encouraged others to share their feelings too.

Duffy has invited fans to talk with her about their lives and experiences, saying she was ‘liberated’ when she opened up about her own harrowing experience of rape.

In the month of February, the singer Duffy announced to the world that she was raped and kidnapped in the past. The 35-year-old singer did not reveal many details about her horrific experience. Now, in a post, the Rain On Your Parade singer now goes on to reveal that she was drugged on her birthday. The Welsh singer says that for the next four weeks she was held captive at her house.  Duffy further adds that she was then taken to a news country. The Well Well Well singer recalls that even today details of her escape from her kidnapping is not very clear to her.

Duffy is opening up about the traumatic experiences in her life that led to her disappearing for 10 years. The 35-year-old singer, whose full name is Aimee Anne Duffy, penned a lengthy essay titled, «The 5th House» on her website, detailing her alleged rape and abduction, which she said led her to consider changing her name and starting a new life. 

Singer Duffy has finally found the courage to open up about her four-week rape and kidnapping ordeal almost two months after telling fans the drama forced her to take a decade-long break from music.

Duffy has shared a harrowing account of being raped, drugged and held captive for weeks – and said she was telling her “dark” story to help “others who have suffered the same”.

She said she initially feared going to the police, but eventually told a female officer what happened after someone threatened to “out her story”.​
