Discussing the offer on Sunday Brunch in 2018, Les said that he wasn't allowed to take part due to an ITV soap "policy". However, he admitted: "I wouldn't mind doing it, I always like a challenge." But if recent reports are to be believed it looks like Les' Strictly dream will come true after all.

Bradley Walsh is a household name known to many TV fans around the country for his presenting gigs which include The Chase, but it appears his son Barney could be set to follow in his footsteps as rival networks ITV and BBC have reportedly launched a “bidding war” to try and secure the talented presenter for their shows. Coronation Street star Jude Riordan has captured the hearts of fans everywhere after he paid a sweet and heartfelt message to his father, Emmerdale star Paul Riordan, as part of a poignant Father’s Day message this week. The 12 year old youngster, who is known to many fans for playing Sam Blakeman, the son of Nick Tilsely on the cobbles, took a break from filming his upcoming scenes to honour his dear dad, who it turns out, previously also worked on Coronation Street himself! Taking to social media to celebrate Father’s Day, Jude’s account (which is run by his mum) shared two adorable images of Paul and Jude together as they marked the special occasion, as Jude adorably dubbed his dad “the best.” One of the photos, which featured a sweet throwback to Jude’s early start in life as an adorable baby, was accompanied by the caption: "HFD to all, especially the best @paulrio27 #happyfathersday #thebest.” While a second image revealed Jude alongside his dad and older brother, all dressed smartly in their finest outfits ahead of a glamorous night out.

Derek Thompson, Casualty's longest-serving cast member, has announced that he will be departing the BBC show after 37 years, the BBC has said. The actor, who plays Charlie Fairhead on the popular BBC medical soap, has said of his departure: "The time has come for me to hang up Charlie’s scrubs after the most wonderful 37 years. "Charlie Fairhead was inspired by a real nurse – Pete Salt.Together with the writers and producers, I have tried to bring to Charlie the compassion, kindness, heroism and sound judgement that we all see and love in Pete and I want to say thanks to Pete and everyone else over that time who has inspired me in bringing this character to life." Nurse Charlie has played a key role in a number of the show's storylines and will be departing in a gripping exit storyline later this year.

Coronation Street star Jodie Prenger has revealed that her first day on set as Glenda Shuttleworth left her "sobbing". The actress, who joined the ITV soap in March, spoke to The Daily Star about her experience on the show and recalled her very first day on set in August last year.

Viewers of the BAFTA TV Awards were less than pleased after Casualty was named the winner of the Soap & Continuing Drama category over long-time favourites such as Emmerdale, EastEnders and Coronation Street.The soap category, in general, has been a mixed bag at the award ceremony, with ITV's Corrie walking away with the away last year but not even making the nominations list this year. Britain's Got Talent's Travis George, who recently left the judges shocked with his singing talents, has hit back at claims the show is a "fix." Travis, 22, found himself at the centre of a fix row after fans discovered he had starred in two episodes of BBC medical drama Casualty. According to his IMDb page, Travis has appeared in two episodes of the popular series, one in 2022 and the second earlier this year. He has also appeared in one episode of daytime soap Doctors, and ten episodes of The A Word.This TV background was enough for BGT viewers to claim that the talent competition must be "fixed" – a claim that Travis has hit back at.

Peter was sadly found dead on an Australian beach after drowning in Fremantle, near Perth, Western Australia, on Thursday. The actor had travelled to Perth from London in order to visit his mother, according to local reports, and is believed to have been snorkelling at South Beach in Fremantle when he found himself in danger.
