Big Thief have announced their new charity EP ‘Passion Relation’ which will help raise funds for those who were affected by the LA Wildfires.The fires, which began on January 7, have left 28 people dead, more than 12,000 structures destroyed and saw the evacuation of more than 150,000 residents.Comprised of five tracks, ‘Passion Relation’ is available to purchase via the band’s official webstore and with all proceeds being donated to those impacted by the devastating wildfires.Speaking about the EP in a press release, the band shared: “Our hearts are broken for everyone affected by the fires in California. We’ve put together some of our favorite unreleased songs into an EP called Passional Relations, only available on our webstore, and all proceeds will go toward providing relief for those impacted by the fires in Los Angeles.”They continued: “Our hope is that these contributions will not only help address the crucial and immediate needs of affected communities but also help sustain the work, identity, and culture of the artists within them.”A bulk of the proceeds will be donated to the Plus1LA Fires Fund, which directly supports organisations working on the ground to address critical needs like housing, education, animal welfare, and more.

Big Thief have surprise-released Passional Relations, a new five-track EP, exclusively for sale on the indie-folk band's website. Proceeds from the sales will benefit charities and communities affects by the Los Angeles wildfires.

Big Thief has been enlisted by singer-songwriter Tucker Zimmerman to be the backing band on his new album ‘Dance Of Love’.The album’s lead track, “Burial at Sea,” comes with a video directed by Noah, the younger brother of Big Thief’s Adrianne Lenker. Driven by melodic guitar strings, the song also features Lenker on backing vocals. The band backs Zimmerman on nine of the album’s ten tracks.‘Dance Of Love’ is due to be released on October 11 on 4AD, you can pre-order and pre-save it here.

Big Thief have debuted a tender new track, ‘Taker’ in Belgium – watch fan-shot footage of the performance below.While playing a sold-out gig at Antwerp’s OLT Rivierenhof, Adrianne Lenker introduced the new track, saying: “This is our first time playing this one, today. Y’all are the first [crowd] we’re playing this song for.”Lenker also told fans that she’s started using in-ear monitors, explaining: “I wanna be able to play music and hear the guitar and stuff for the next, like, 50 years.”It comes after the indie-folk band debuted even more new material at Oregon’s Project Pabst and revealed their new line-up following the departure of founding member and bassist Max Oleartchik.They had previously taken to Instagram to say the separation marked “the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one for Big Thief”.“This change was made for interpersonal reasons with mutual respect in our hearts,” they continued.

Big Thief has announced the departure of their bassist and founding member Max Oleartchik.The indie-folk band took to Instagram to announce the news, writing: “After many beautiful years together, Max is no longer in Big Thief. Our love for each other is infinite, and we are so grateful for all we have shared these many years together since the beginning of our journey as a band.“We wouldn’t be who we are without Max,” they continued.

Adrianne Lenker has announced her new solo record ‘Bright Future’ and has shared a new single, ‘Sadness As A Gift’.The Big Thief vocalist and guitarist will release her sixth solo record, having previously shared the minimalistic lead single ‘Ruined’. Lenker’s album will also feature the original recording of ‘Vampire Empire’, which she first released with Big Thief last year.Now, the singer has unveiled her new song ‘Sadness As A Gift’, which is heavily inspired by country and folk. Big Thief‘s Adrianne Lenker has debuted a new single ‘Ruined’ and announced a 2024 UK and Europe tour.The track is set to become the lead single from Lenker’s forthcoming sixth solo album, which will land next year. No further details about the album have been revealed as of yet.‘Ruined’ sees Lenker move to the piano for the first time as she laments a conflicting romantic situation – “Can’t get enough of you/ You come around I’m ruined,” she sings.“This song has been a quiet beacon for me.

Singer-songwriter and Big Thief guitarist Buck Meek has confirmed details of a new solo album. Haunted Mountain will be released on August 25 and today's announcement arrives alongside the album's title track.

Big Thief have announced plans for a world tour in 2023.The jaunt will include several dates in the UK which kick off at Gateshead Sage on April 5, along with further dates in Edinburgh, Manchester, and Cardiff, followed by two shows in London which wrap up at the Eventim Apollo on April 12.This will be followed a series of European dates throughout the rest of the month.Tickets for the UK shows go on sale this Friday (September 16) at 10am and can be purchased here. Big Thief have cancelled two shows in Tel Aviv, less than a week after they were first announced, following criticism over their decision to play in Israel.The band, who released new double album ‘Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You’ back in February, were set to play a pair of shows in bassist Max Oleartchick’s hometown on July 6 and 7.But today (June 9), they’ve confirmed that both shows will be cancelled.“We would like to start by clarifying a few things from our first post. When we spoke of loving ‘beyond disagreement’ and not knowing ‘where the moral high ground lies,’ that was in specific referred to playing shows in Israel during a time where BDS (The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement is a Palestinian-led movement promoting boycotts, divestments, and economic sanctions against Israel) is calling for a cultural boycott,” starts the post.

In the four-minute clip, Lenker encourages her fans to be more present and less talkative during concerts.
