BTS have begun teasing upcoming celebrations in Seoul for the group’s 10th anniversary this year.On May 25, Big Hit Music announced that the boyband would be holding their annual BTS Festa event, which commemorates the group’s debut anniversary, over two weeks in Seoul this June. This year’s edition of the event will kick off on June 12, one day before BTS’ June 13 debut date, and continue until June 25.According to the K-pop label, per Yonhap News Agency, this year’s BTS Festa will be held across major landmarks in Seoul as part of a collaboration with the Seoul metropolitan government.

BTS have released a brand-new song called ‘The Planet’, for the soundtrack of the upcoming South Korean animated series Bastions.‘The Planet’ is performed by all seven members of BTS, and are their first release as a full group since June 2022’s ‘Yet To Come’, from their compilation album ‘Proof’. BTS and not Taylor Swift.Publisher Flatiron Books confirmed on May 11 that the upcoming book, which has since become a best-seller after rumours that it was a memoir by Taylor Swift, will instead be about the K-pop boyband BTS, per The New York Times.The upcoming book will be titled Beyond The Story: 10-Year Record of BTS, and was written by journalist Myeongseok Kang together with members of the group. Meanwhile, the English version will be translated by Anton Hur, with Clare Richards and Slin Jung.In addition, the US edition will feature exclusive photographs and will have a first printing of one million copies, per The New York Times.

BTS’ Jungkook online.Earlier this year, it was reported that a former foreign ministry employee, whose identity has been withheld, had been indicted for attempting to sell a hat belonging to the BTS member for approximately KRW10million (£6,600) after he had left it at the government building.On Wednesday (May 3), The Korea Herald reported that the employee had been fined KRW1million (£660) by the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office earlier that day on charges of attempting to sell the BTS singer’s lost hat online.A previous report by the media outlet states that the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office also intended to return the hat to Jungkook, though the prosecution, idol and his label have yet to provide further updates.The former employee had allegedly uploaded a photo of the hat on an online second-hand market and claimed that Jungkook had left it at the foreign ministry building after visiting to apply for a new passport.In the post, they added that the hat had been reported as lost property for six months before they decided to claim ownership of it. The listing was met with backlash, leading the employee to delete the listing and turn themselves in to the police.Shortly after this, the prosecution stated that HYBE had confirmed to police that the hat did belong to Jungkook.

Big Hit Entertainment has issued a statement following reports that an employee of the Korail transport system had accessed RM’s personal information nearly 20 times over the course of three years.On March 1, SBS reported that a Korail employee, referred to only as A, had accessed RM’s personal information – including his mobile number, address and more – 18 times and had helped their friend book a train seat close to the BTS leader.The employee reportedly said of their actions: “I simply looked at it because I was curious. I am reflecting on my mistakes.”Korail, or Korea Railroad Corporation, said that the employee was in charge of IT development and had the authority to access customer’s personal data, reported the Korea Times.

BTS leader RM has dropped a video for the song ‘Closer’ that features scenes from Park Chan-wook’s acclaimed mystery-romance film Decision To Leave. The music video was officially released yesterday (February 21) via BTS’ BANGTANTV YouTube channel and a clip from the video was also simultaneously shared on RM’s personal Instagram page. “I added some lo-fi arrangement to go with the video! BTS will take time off from performing and music for the holidays, following their first in-person concerts in two years.Earlier today (December 6), the boyband’s label Big Hit Music announced that the septet will go on an “extended period of rest” for the first time since 2019. The news comes shortly after the boyband’s in-person ‘Permission To Dance On Stage’ concerts at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, as well as their appearance at the 2021 Jingle Ball Tour.“The period of rest will produce the members of BTS… a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy,” Big Hit said in its statement.
