Bad Boy Chiller Crew have sued their former record label, claiming that they are owed approximately £400,000 in unpaid royalties.The Bradford rap trio, who were nominated for Best Group at the BRITs 2023, said they had “no other option” but to take legal action against House Anxiety – which signed them in 2020.BBCC released their mixtape ‘Full Wack No Brakes’ (2020) through the independent label. Its follow-up, ‘Disrespectful’ (2022), and 2023 album ‘Influential’ both arrived via Relentless Records and Sony Music Entertainment UK under exclusive license from House Anxiety.The group allege that they were supposed to have been sent royalty statements by House Anxiety every six months, but only received the first one in October of this year.They claim that “vast sums” had been incorrectly deducted from this document.

Bad Boy Chiller Crew have announced a winter tour for the UK.The Bradford rap trio shared the news of the ‘Charva’s Season’ tour on social media earlier today (August 21), revealing that their tour will take place in early December with stops in Manchester, Leicester, Cardiff, Birmingham and Leeds.They announced a series of support artists too. Bad Boy Chiller Crew have launched a new ‘fans for foodbanks’ initiative at their gigs.The Bradford trio (made up of MCs Kane, Clive and GK), launched the initiative last week (February 18) in Manchester at local venue Gorilla, with gig-goers bringing non-perishable foods along to the gigs to donate to a local food bank.All last week’s donated food went to The Trussell Trust-approved Manchester Central Foodbank, with the band personally delivering the items there after the show.A statement said: “…The band have seen the all-too-real effects of extreme poverty in the UK having grown up on estates in Bradford where food banks are a vital part of the community.“The damaging effects of the pandemic have caused food bank usage to rise to an all time high and the trio wish to make a difference, trialling this donation initiative at their recent Manchester show.”Now, there are plans to roll out the scheme during their upcoming Spring 2022 tour that begins this April.Fans who bring items for the food bank along to the gigs will be rewarded with limited-edition signed posters and a promise from the band to match all monetary donations made at the show.You can see the full list of BBCC’s upcoming UK tour dates here. Bad Boy Chiller Crew say that they find it difficult to go anywhere in their hometown because they’re always getting mobbed.The Bradford comedy troupe and band have become so popular that they recently acquired their own series for ITV.Speaking in NME‘s Big Read, band member Gareth Kelly said: “We don’t feel like celebrities, but we can’t go anywhere anymore. It’s a headfuck knowing that we can’t ever go back to normal jobs.“To be honest, there is jealousy from people back home, but we haven’t really had much love from the music industry either.

Bad Boy Chiller Crew have said they’d like to collaborate with Elton John for a remixed version of his 1979 hit ‘Are You Ready For Love’.The Bradford group told NME in this week’s Big Read that it’s an ambition of theirs to persuade the pop legend to work with them.Bad Boy Chiller Crew’s first CD, ‘Git Up Mush’, was handmade and self-released by the boys who sourced copyright-free vocals from online sample library Splice for their songs’ choruses.“Tell Elton John that if he clears the ‘Are You Ready For Love’ vocals, we’ll remix it,” bandmember Kane Welsh told NME.
