ADOR, which launched the K-pop group NewJeans this month, has revealed the girl group’s atypical concept was met with some skepticism within the label’s parent company HYBE.CEO Min Hee-jin recently sat for an interview with South Korean outlet Korea JoongAng Daily, where she talked about producing rookie girl group NewJeans and their atypical launch, which broke from industry conventions. For instance, instead of following the usual route of unveiling members, dropping teasers then releasing a music video, NewJeans were introduced via a music video that also announced their group name – well before any information was shared on the group’s members.Min also acknowledged that that music she “chose” for NewJeans, ADOR’s first artist, “was not the conventional K-pop idol style”.

HYBE sublabel ADOR says it will take legal action “on a regular basis” against perpetrators of “malicious activities”, including defamation, targeting its new girl group NewJeans.The label uploaded a notice on its official Twitter account yesterday (August 10) announcing its plans to begin initiating legal action against individuals found to have produced malicious content against the K-pop girl group. ADOR encouraged fans of the group to report such incidents to the company for further action.“Our company has decided to initiate and continue legal proceedings on a regular basis against perpetrators of malicious activities targeting NewJeans and any content by the company including ill-intentioned criticism, the spread of groundless information and defamation,” ADOR’s English statement read.“We ask you to report such activities, including malicious posts, to the official ADOR email hotline for legal affairs (protect@ador.world),” continued the label, before going on to share the encouraged procedure fans should use to email the company.

HYBE’s latest girl group under its ADOR label, NewJeans, have unveiled their latest music video for ‘Cookie’, from their newly released debut EP.In the choreography-focused new visual, a giant cookie rolls past the five-member act on a simple set. Launching into the song, NewJeans dance along to ‘Cookie’, using a bench as a prop while the lighting changes around them.“No dinner, dinner / You’re hungry, though / No water, water / You’re thirsty, though / Sweet sugar, my my / Dessert, my my / That’s how you like it, ain’t that right,” they sing on the laidback chorus.‘Cookie’ is the fourth and final track to be unveiled from NewJeans’ self-titled debut release, following previous songs ‘Attention’, ‘Hype Boy’ and ‘Hurt’, which were shared on YouTube over the past two weeks.

ADOR says fans should expect the new subsidiary label of BTS‘ agency HYBE to debut its first K-pop girl group sometime in “the third quarter of the year”.ADOR’s CEO Min Hee-jin recently spoke to Be(Attitude) in a new interview about her plans for the company’s new group, which she revealed will be making their highly-anticipated debut later this year following the label’s launch in November 2021.Min first explained that the new girl group had been in the works since 2019. “We held auditions back in September 2019 and by the end of that year, we had completed not only the audition process but the casting as well,” she shared.
