Sydney Sweeney Says Sheer, but Make It Couture
glamour.com, it’s not going anywhere, and it likely never will. Sheer fashion’s latest champion is star Sydney Sweeney, who wore a mostly sheer floor-length Schiaparelli couture dress to a screening of latest movie, HBOMax’s Reality, at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City on Tuesday, May 16.
Sweeney’s strapless black gown has a mermaid fit, with alternating panels of sheer and opaque fabrics. The sheer panels expose her abs and thighs, and the opaque panels have multiple layers of ruffles. (The pattern almost calls to mind censor bars, which would be on theme for the film about classified information.) styled the dramatic look with subtle makeup: a cat eye, pink cheeks, and light pink matte lips.
She wore her long blonde hair in soft, summery waves. This is certainly not the first time that Sweeney has favored a sheer look, joining fellow sheer pioneers such as , , and on the front lines of the fight for sheer domination.
