Swedish rapper Gaboro – real name Ninos Khouri – was shot dead in a multi-story car park Thursday evening. The BBC reports that Swedish police were investigating the suspected murder of the musician, who died of his injuries after being shot near a parking garage in Norrkoping, a city south-west of the Swedish capital Stockholm.
Police later confirmed that a man in his 20s had been found injured at the scene and was later pronounced dead in hospital. Gaboro’s Spotify platform has hundreds of thousands of monthly listeners, and tributes to the rapper began appearing there soon after the news of his death was reported.
The New York Post reports that a video purporting to be filmed by the shooter of the incident began circulating online shortly after it occurred, showing a person carrying a handgun, firing multiple shots and then hitting a man as he attempted to run away.
However, Swedish police have not confirmed this to be related to the shooting. The BBC reports that Khouri got his big break in 2022, with his song Browski going viral on TikTok.
