EXCLUSIVE: Sweden’s Studios Extraordinaires is teaming with European games maker Fallen Leaf Studios to develop film and TV versions of sci-fi horror game Fort Solis.
In the game, players take control of engineer Jack Leary, who is trust into an emergency situation on an isolated Martian mining base.
As events spiral out of control, a mystery about the fate of the base’s crew slowly unravels. The game has a cast including Roger Clark (Red Dead Redemption 2), Troy Baker (The Last of Us, Death Stranding) and Julia Brown (The Last Kingdom, World on Fire) but no cast for the big and small screen adaptations have been set.
It was developed by Fallen Leaf and Black Drakkar Games, and was published by France’s Dear Villagers. “Fort Solis is the kind of clever science-fiction tethering on the brink of science-fact that will stay with you long after you step away from the screen,” said Studios Extrairdinaires co-founders André Hedetoft and Andreas Troedsson in a statement. “Each character in the small cast brings a unique perspective and depth to the story and we can’t wait to bring its gripping narrative, cinematic setting, and stellar cast to life amidst the thrilling backdrop of the Martian frontier.” The project is the fourth for Studios Extraordinaires, whose launch we revealed during the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
