Swarm of wasps takes over street as residents forced to lock themselves inside

A huge swarm of wasps left residents cowering in their homes after the insects took over their street. Footage of this morning's incident was caught on camera.Joiner Rob Tighe - who was working at a house on the street in question - managed to capture the phenomenon in a clip recorded on his mobile phone.

The 25-year-old shot the video on Anfield Road, near to Liverpool FC's Anfield Stadium.The clip, taken at around 11am today, Monday, May 20, 2024, shows thousands of wasps flying through the air.

Liverpool Echo reports the video shows the wasps settling onto a Land Rover parked on the road.Rob said: "I had my headphones in, I was just looking out of the window and I thought they were flying out at first.

One landed on the window. I went out and they were everywhere. It was mad. I was a bit frightened at first."I thought I'm doing a job, I had lots of windows open.
