Suspect named after Quran allegedly burned at Manchester memorial

A man has been charged after a Quran was allegedly burned at the Glade of Light memorial in Manchester. Martin Frost is set to appear in court after being charged with causing racially and religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm, distress.

The 47-year-old, of Barkway Road, Stretford, has been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester Magistrates Court today (February 3).

It follows an incident which is alleged to have taken place on Saturday, February 1. Greater Manchester Police says it received reports of a racially aggravated public order offence at the Glade of Light.

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident. A GMP spokesperson said: "Martin Frost from Trafford has been charged with causing racially and religiously aggravated intentional harassment, alarm, distress.
