Susan Boyle has recalled her final meeting with her ‘great friend’ Paul O’Grady after his death aged 67. The Lily Savage and Blind Date star died ‘unexpectedly but peacefully’ on Tuesday, his husband Andre Portasio said in a statement.

Tributes have since poured in for the For the Love of Dogs presenter from figures in the entertainment world, including Lorraine Kelly, while the royal family said they were ‘deeply saddened’ by his death.

The Britain’s Got Talent star, 61, is the latest celebrity to remember O’Grady, sharing on Instagram she had seen the TV legend and comedian in Edinburgh last week.

She wrote: ‘Paul, you were one in a million, kind, funny, and a great friend. ‘When I saw you last week in Edinburgh, never would I have thought this was goodbye. ‘Sending love to Andre & your family.
