Superorganism turned some notable heads with their 2018 self-titled debut album. Frank Ocean, Jehnny Beth, Vampire Weekend, Gorillaz and more have pledged allegiance to their post-everything approach, heralding an era of exponential growth for the eight-piece internet creature.
Today, they're announcing their sophomore LP, World Wide Pop, due July 15 on Domino. The record's impressive list of featured performers includes Stephen Malkmus, Gen Hoshino, and Dylan Cartridge, as well as CHAI and Pi Ja Ma, both of whom appear on its newly released lead single, "Teenager." The new song wears its heart on its sleeve, its ensemble class singing openly about the joys and pains of growing up over an uplifting hyperpop instrumental.
It comes with a maximalist music video directed by AEVA, featuring rainbows, kittents, a cartoon island, and a passionate dance routine from Brian Jordan Alvarez (of Will and Grace fame).
