If you're struggling to get your child to wind down for bed, you might be making a common mistake that's shared by many parents.
Jo Frost, former star of Channel 4's Supernanny, suggests that rushing through bedtime routines – often because parents want to catch up on tasks once their child is asleep – could be the very reason kids stay awake.
In a video with more than 12,000 likes, the 54-year-old explained: "A lot of parents talk about their young toddler, three or four years old, being very hyped up and not wanting to sort of slow down, get into the space of slumber before bed.
I think it's important for parents to recognise that you have to create that pace, and that starts really after bath time." She added: "You have to energetically yourself calm down.
